Here is the full text of the United Church Open & Affirming covenant. It is printed in our worship bulletin every week, but we thought a quick reference copy here would be good:

Christ Jesus has called us to be a community of faith, loving one another as God loves us, freely and without reservation. As such, our church’s tradition of justice and equality has again compelled us to affirm the dignity and worth of each person, rejecting any form of discrimination. The United Church of Huntsville (UCC) is an Open and Affirming Congregation, celebrating human relationships that are based on love, responsibility, mutual respect, trust, and fidelity. We joyfully embrace diversity of age, ethnicity, family structure, gender identity and expression, mental and physical ability, nationality, political ideology, race, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, and spiritual belief. All are invited into the full life and ministry of this church. No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.
